Encase interview

Here's a great interview with the Operations Manager from a local packaging factory, Encase. Rylan Morris joined the 8th Family Group at Frank Wise School and talked to them about his job.
Pupils had decided on their questions the week before, and enjoyed assembling the boxes Rylan brought along with him, especially when they got to fill them with gifts such as pens, t-shirts and baseball caps!

Water conservation

Not weekly any more, but here's some excellent work from our 10th family group (all new pupils this year though!). The 10th Family group are following a technology project about water. Water is very important for many things so we must not waste it!!
We interviewed Nick, our Site Manager about water in our school as part of the Eco-School survey.
As well as being part of our Eco-Schools Silver bid it is also part of our International Comenius Project with partner schools in Spain and Poland. Find out more at

Award for Best Animation

We've gone back to our own school news this week. We were thrilled to hear that an animated film the pupils in this class made just over a year ago had won the Best Animation in the Flash Forward Film Festival in Oxford.
We've made it all in Garageband again, so if you have any comments about the quality of images compared to normal do please let us know. Also, it would be great to hear from you if you like having the weblinks in the images.

Killer nurse in Banbury

Last week the pupils in the 10th Family Group found out about the terrible front page story of a local nurse who had murdered 2 people in our hospital, and left several other victims close to death. They've recorded their thoughts on this for the podcast and you can access it here. Environment Week at Frank Wise School

Local boy on TV

A 9 year old local boy appeared on Stars in Your Eyes on TV recently. He dressed up as his hero, Noddy Holder, performing a song from the 70's band, Slade. Pupils from the 10th Family Group thought this was worth telling you more about.

World Book Day

More news from Frank Wise School. Every class worked on making their own paper yesterday to prepare a major display to celebrate World Book Day. Pupils added special extra ingredients such as glitter or fragrances, or chose to emboss the paper with shapes or letters, to create a range of very individual works of art! Pupils from the 10th Family Group interviewed people from other classes about what they were doing.
