Pastoral. Urban. Take your pick. Nestled in the heart of Bloor-West Village in Toronto, Canada, Swansea Public School enjoys a rare city field, a skating rink, a pond, a hill, a swimming spool - all built on a former garbage dump. Welcome to the sounds and images from the grand old school.
Poems by Students of B2-7
Posted: February 2008
January was a month for learning about and writing poetry. Students analyzed different forms then tried their hand at penning their own. The aim was to write poems that appealed to the senses and used evocative diction. A wide range of verse was created, from simple rhymes to complex, stream-of-consciousness confessionals. Students used Garageband to record their favourite pieces, then added layers of subtle sound over top to accent the language. As usual, you can hear the buzz of the classroom in the background which, while not ideal, gives a distinct feeling of "being in the room."

The movie is about the class of B2 raising money for the Saint Phillips pantry. The students in our class (B2) had a raffle to raise the money at the winter concert. With help from Mr. Higgins and Ms. Gaudet, we raised $500. We are planning to give the money to the food bank.
