Is providing educational podcasts via mobile phones the next evolutionary step in podcasting?
The advent of 3G and 4G mobile phone networks introduces broadband capability to mobile phones. With established international network infrastructure and an ever increasing consumer base worldwide, this could really become another growth area for educational podcasting.
Most 3G+ mobile phones already contain the technology infrastructure not only to receive and play audio - but also video too. Currently there are a few applications that can be installed onto a mobile phone and used to download and play podcasts. However, there an increasing number of services are emerging that offeri the facility to stream podacsts to mobile phones.
Could this is really the dawn of a new digital age where the evolving technologies are finaly brought together to provide learning anytime, anywhere?
