Now optimised for th eretina screen on iPad, this App is a fun way to learn to add objects and taking away objects using a 1 – 10 number line. This App is designed for younger children aged 3+ and has different levels of difficulty to provide progression in learning.

  • Challenge 1 - To add by counting on, starting at the number 0.
  • Challenge 2 - To add by counting on, starting at a given number in a random range. For example, from number 3 count on 2.
  • Challenge 3 - To take away by counting back, starting at the number 10.
  • Challenge 4 - To take away by counting back, starting at a given number in a random range. For example, from number 7 count back 3.

AppStoreBadge100x200aThe App is intuitive to use - tap to select the target number in response to the prompt. After initial learning with an adult, younger children can then progress to independent learning.

App settings can be changed to vary the level of difficulty and tailor the challenges to the child's current stage of learning. Settings are provided to:

  • Vary the level of difficulty (easier/medium/harder)
  • Toggle the auto-correct feature on/off (leave off for older learners)

In addition, the App can be personalised with a child's name, snapshots can be taken and shared via the photo album or sent by email as an attachment.

  • Top image - add by counting on using a single number, easier level of difficulty
  • Middle image - add by counting on with a set of three numbers numbers, medium level of difficulty
  • Bottom image - take away by counting back with a set of four numbers, harder level of difficulty.


MNGscorecard200x150This App now features an accuracy score to provide feedback on performance.

Results are presented on a scorecard and can be selected once the certificate is displayed. The first scorecard is linked to the current child's name. You can switch the display to view the scorecard to show all previous users. A maximum of 100 results are stored.

You can sort the content of the scorecard on a range of options including name, challenge, difficulty and score.

Technical Information

My Number Line has been designed for the iPad, iPad 2, new iPad and iPad Air, running iOS 4.3 to iOS 10. The current App version is 2.0. The App is completely self-contained and only requires access to the internet if you choose to send an email with an attached screenshot. Screenshots can also be saved into the iPad photo album.
